Wow - this week flew by and I have a number of half-finished projects and not much to show for it. Slowly putting together the big girls' room. I'm not sure when it will be "done," but I did pull out their quilt pieces this week and made a little ironing progress (cutting is complete)! Mostly, I'm just trying to arrange the things that are already in their room and figure out what we need to make the new room work.
My oh-so-tolerant husband dropped by the little antique shop to drag home this beauty for me. What's that? You don't think it's very pretty? Yeah, neither did he, but just you wait!
eta: oops, sorry I wasn't very clear, what I meant was that I called him up and said, "Honey, I found the cutest little old desk at the antique shop, but I didn't have any cash and I had to leave it there, could you please please please go get it for me?" He brought it home and said, "Well, it certainly is old!"

I also came across some pretty new fabric and a fun little jumpsuit pattern. I'll give you a peak now, but rather than posing for pictures, Addie has been much more interested in running laps around the house with the music blasting.
Any fun plans this weekend?

The big girls room is looking oh so pretty! Loved getting a little peek. Are you putting the little chair thingy in there too? You know I love a good furniture makeover, I would have snatched that up! Your husband has a good eye.
ReplyDeleteI love the shelf display! And did you make the flower mobile? It's beautiful! I see the potential in that desk, girl. It's gonna be awesome! I think you've inspired me to do a project this weekend!
ReplyDeletehilijean: I did make the flower mobile - thank you! Is there interest in a tutorial?
ReplyDeleteI love how you arranged the shelves, can't wait for the bunk bed reveal, and hope to see that - is it a desk? in the room. xoxo
ReplyDeleteCute girly room! The desk has SO much potential, I'm sure you'll make it up perfectly just like all your other projects. Wish I had "project" plans for the wknd, but my 2 babies under 2yrs are keeping me busy enough as it is. The projects are on hold for a bit.
ReplyDeletethe girls room is coming together beautifully. Love the headband, too. I got to play outside and plant some veggie seeds today. It was a beautiful day.
ReplyDeleteThe big girls' room is adorable! My DD7 moved in with DD2 in the fall, leaving DD11 with a room to herself. Sadly, we've made very little decorating progress on either room since then. And it breaks my heart, but DD11 has moved beyond the cute little girls room to the realm of the tween room. Purple, green, peace signs on everything, a lava lamp, and she wants me to recover her pink bean bag with a zebra print. (Anyone have tips on making a new bean bag cover?)
ReplyDeleteThe baby shoes in the shadow box is such a cute idea! I'm partial to all things tea related, so I couldn't help noticing the cute little pink teapot up on the shelf.
I think that piece you found at the antique store has great potential. I think they're sometimes called a gossip bench because you would keep the telephone on the table and sit in the chair to chat.
I have an old gossip bench waiting to be revived as well. Love that room and the bench will be a great addition! My hubby just shakes his head at mine too.
